BIOGRAPHY: Leviticai (known before as Mortus Kiljoi) started Echoes of Silence back in 1999 as an idea originally named Midnight Masquerade. After the downfall of Mournful Silence, Mortus decided to comtinue the project with just Demonicus. Demonicus later left the band after changing the name in 2000 to Echoes of Silence and after that Mortus changed his identity to Leviticai. Demonicus came back to record "Echoes in the Night" and then shortly left. Leviticai started alone writing ambient and industrial music and released "Where No Sun Shines" in 2003 and shortly after released "Thy Darkest Desires EP" in 2004. He released another ambient album in 2005 entitled "Within Dark Waters." Leviticai decided it was time to find another member to help with Echoes of Silence so he found Lord Onigumo of Gorthymus and Drifason to help and they created "Raven Dusk" in late 2005. Lord Onigumo and Drifason left the band at the beginning of 2006. Leviticai continued alone to start writing what was known later as Synthetic Black Metal. He released "Your Undying Beauty" and "Dead Winter Nights EP" in 2006. He later made a anthology album of his past works. He later released "Winter's Bane" which would be the last of the synthetic black metal albums he'd create. After the release of "Winter's Bane" he decided to go into creating real symphonic black metal. He created and released his debut symphonic black metal album "The Grand Masquerade" which got plenty of good feedback and sales. He also released "The Midnight Opera," "Atrox Eternus" and "Our Godless Empire" shortly after. Leviticai and Echoes of Silence are going strong and changing the black metal genre.
